The Nabonidus was a hovercraft captained by Morpheus. It served as his replacement ship when his previous ship, the Nebuchadnezzar, was destroyed by a Sentinel tow bomb after Neo visited The Architect.
It is rumored that there is a chance Morpheus is still alive on the ship, which is speculated due to the ship's signal into the Matrix.
Name[]
The Nabonidus's name (Nabû-naʾid in Akkadian, which means "Nabu is praised") is taken from the last king of the Neo-Babylonian Empire, who reigned from from 556-539 BCE. This is a reference in turn to the Nebuchadnezzar, Morpheus' first ship which was named after an earlier king of the Neo-Babylonian Empire.
